Visit to Thuy Bieu Village and Cooking Class

Tour Code: HUE4
Duration: 01
Level: Easy

Your day will start at 8:30 AM when our car and experienced guide pick you up from the city center or your hotel in Hue for an excursion to Thuy Bieu village. You will set off on a dragon boat from Toa Kham wharf. Before reaching Thuy Bieu, you'll stop to visit Thien Mu pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hue and an iconic symbol of the city.

At 10:00 AM, you'll arrive at Luong Quan wharf and begin a pleasant bike ride through shaded pomelo gardens, leading you to Luong Quan temple, a major site in the Thuy Bieu ecotourism village. This temple, dedicated to the village goddess, is an important gathering place for locals during Tet celebrations.

Continue your bike exploration by visiting an old house that has been a notable example of Hue's garden house architecture for over a century. Thuy Bieu is renowned for its Ruong houses, which are distinctive to the region. You’ll have the chance to explore one of these Ruong houses, surrounded by a garden that has lasted for hundreds of years. Enjoy a cup of tea while listening to the owner share the fascinating history of the house.

Next, learn about local daily life by visiting an incense-making home, an additional occupation alongside farming. You'll also stop by a family of silk painters to see the art of countryside painting created by local young artists. Their works often reflect a desire for a peaceful and prosperous life, frequently depicting animals from daily life.

At 12:00 PM, savor a local lunch in a garden house, where the dishes are prepared with fresh, local ingredients by skilled Hue women. Afterward, discover the traditional use of Thanh Tra, a fruit associated with the Thuy Bieu region for many generations. Under the guidance of Ms. Lien, a passionate chef, you’ll learn to make Thanh Tra jam. You can taste your creations and take home a small jar of jam as a souvenir.

At 1:00 PM, relax with a 30-minute herbal foot bath, including a soothing massage with fresh pomelo leaves. The tour will end at 1:30 PM with a return to your hotel. Thank you and see you soon !
