Phong Nha and Paradise caves (Group Tour.)
Tour Code: PN05Duration: 01
Level: Easy
Paradise Cave is the longest dry cave in Asia (located in the central area of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park). With its naturally primitive features, Paradise Cave resembles a scenic painting, making it a natural wonder that many have enjoyed since its opening in 2010. The cave can reach up to 72 meters in height and 150 meters in width. There is a series of white crystal stalactites (calcareous deposits) resembling natural pillars and many other spectacular formations. The visit includes a buggy ride through the jungle, a 200-meter uphill hike to the cave’s entrance, and a 1-kilometer exploration inside the cave along wooden walkways installed to protect the ancient stalagmites and stalactites. All the magnificent formations are delicately illuminated to highlight their grandeur.
Phong Nha Cave, or “Water Cave,” is located along the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail and is a relic of the American-Vietnamese War. This cave was actively used to support the battlefield route in South Vietnam. Sheltered from routine bombings, it served as a secret place to hide floating bridges that were brought out at night and placed over the river to help trucks supply the South. It also once served as a hospital, with weapons stationed at the entrance. Today, this area has become the first section of the very popular Ho Chi Minh Trail due to its lush mountainous landscape. The visit includes a 6-kilometer dragon boat ride on the Son River and inside the cave. Navigate 1 kilometer into the cave before exploring approximately 300 meters on foot.
